지난 3일 개막 이후 4일과 5일까지 3일 간 기조강연 및 주제발표 6개, 기획세션 2개, 특별세션 6개 등 모든 일정이 마무리되고  5일 저녁 8시 낙동강 둔치에 마련된 특설무대에서 폐막식이 열렸다. '21세기 인문가치 포럼' 결과를 종합한 '안동대회선언문'이 채택된다.

이번 포럼은 '현대 세계 속의 유교적 인문 가치'라는 주제로 동아시아의 가치를 조명하고 유학의 핵심가치인 인, 의, 예, 지의 현대적 해석과 접목방법을 고찰하는 열띤 토론의 장이 펼쳐진 가운데, 이를 기념하고, 나아가 앞으로의 인문가치에 대한 초석이 될 21세기 인문가치포럼 '2014년 안동대회 선언문'을 채택한다. 안동대회 선언문은 이번 포럼에 참석한 모든 학자들이 동참한 가운데 선언문 낭독은 영국 학술원회원인 마티나 도이힐러 교수가 낭독한다.

포럼 마지막 날인 6일에는, 포럼에 참가한 국내외 학자들이 하회마을과 도산서원 등을 돌아보는 문화탐방 행사를 한다.

우리는 21세기라는 새로운 시대에 필요한 인류의 보편적 가치를 모색하여 인간의 존엄과 권리가 보장되는 세상을 만들 희망에서, 인류발전의 역사적 경험을 성찰하고, 축적된 지식과 지혜의 바탕을 재계발하여, 인간의 본성과 주체성을 회복하는 길을 추구하기 위하여 인문전통의 고장 안동에 모였다.

     
우리는 개인과 개인, 개인과 사회, 인간과 자연이 인의(仁義)와 상생의 도덕적 관계로 맺어져 있음을 재확인하면서, 유교의 가르침을 미래지향적 시각에서 다시 읽어 재조명 하고, 나아가서 인류의 다양한 문명 간의 소통과 창조적 융합을 도모할 것을 천명한다.

   
우리는 이러한 노력을 전 세계 뜻을 같이하는 사람들과 유대를 확대하면서 추구할 것인 바, 안동시는 이 포럼이 지속적으로 발전할 수 있도록 최선을 다하여 지원할 것을 확신한다.

Andong Declaration of <21st Century Human Value Forum> in 2014

In the hope of enabling our world to secure human dignity and rights through the search for universal values that are needed for the new era of the 21st century, we have gathered in Andong, the heartland of Korean humanistic tradition, to reflect on the multiple experiences manifested in the history of human advancement, to redevelop our accumulated knowledge and wisdom, and to seek a way to strengthen the innate potential of human nature and agency.
     
In recognition of the virtues of human heartedness(ren, 仁) and righteousness (yi 義), and inter-active ethical relationships between individuals between the individual and society, and between humanity and nature, we declare that we will try to re-read Confucian teachings from a future-oriented perspective, and to achieve harmonious communication and creative integration among the diverse civilizations in the world.

We will try to expand cooperative networks among peoples of the world in order to share our noble ideals, and believe the City of Andong will do its best to support for the continued work of our forum.
